Coktel Vision 1994
Genre: Puzzle, Adventure
Rating: 4/6
Language: English, Francais
Licence: Commercial
System: Amiga
The third installment of Coktel's successful series. Officially, also the last one. Depending on personal definition, Woodruff and The Schnibble of Azimuth could as well be called Goblns 4 (sic!). That however, is another story.
Goody is about a thief in search of a big bank to clean. An easy job if the streets, buildings, sewers and everything between his hideout and the place were not as filled with dangers.
Similar to another classic Opera's game this is mainly action oriented. It's a platformer where you must make good use of your weapon and legs to reach the end of the game.

It's about time to offer our younger visitors something with educational value. I'll do it with 'Goof Troop' and I also admit that I played it although I?m not 8 any more (didn't you guess that?). How embarassing, but I'll try hard to justify it with this test.
Alternate Name(s): "Pro Tennis Tour"

The strangest thing happened with my floppy disk of this game. It would stop loading in the middle of the booting process. I thought it was hopelessly broken - wrong. All I had to do was take the disk out of the drive and put it in again, and it would continue loading as normal. Of course, this happened several times every time I loaded the game, so playing became quite a piece of work. Even with several years of university behind me, I still can't figure out a logical explanation for this behaviour. An unsolved mystery of computer science.
Great Naval Battles IV: Burning Steel is the last part of the quite interesting GNB series by SSI. It covers naval warfare in World War II with a focus on artillery battles rather than aerial attacks (similar to Task Force 1942 by Microprose).
A (heavily deformed, if the title screen is to be believed) US elite soldier taking out a complete army on his own to free prisoners of war. Rambo? Yes, that's the general idea, just multiplied to even more bizarre levels of (non-) realism. Green Beret's gameplay is about as original as its setting. It's a standard sidescroller, with the player's sprite trying to reach the far right side of each level (and a final fight waiting there).
In my opinion 'Gunship 2000' is one of the best heli-simulations. Replayability is high due to the many machines you can fly and the randomly generated maps, so no two missions will be the same.
Kevin Mitnick...THE man. Have you heard about Kevin Mitnick? Have you ever wanted to be like him? Yeah I know...stupid question, of course you did. To be sincere, I wanted that too. I even broke into ***.*****.****.*****.edu but that's another thing.

Starbyte 1993
Genre: Strategy
Rating: 4/6
Language: Deutsch, English
Licence: Commercial
System: Amiga
A German strategy game with decent graphics and intuitive controls? What a novel idea! Ok, there are exceptions - think of Battle Isle and The Settlers. Hannibal can't quite reach that high level, but it comes close enough...

Ikarion Software 1995
Genre: Strategy, Sport
Rating: 5/6
Language: Deutsch
Licence: Commercial
System: PC
Germanies favourite minor matter - again - football! This game fell into my hands for 5 DM on a rummage table. Well, I could give it a try... ok, that try resulted in long late-night gaming sessions. Hattrick has one of the best user interfaces and features like the goal scenes, the articles about the games in the newspaper and the team of the day get you in the mood. Unfortunately, the game comes without a licence from the DFB, so the authors couldn't use the original names of the teams and the players, but there is an editor to rectify this.
