Pool 'm Up
Title Screen
Dommelsch 1999
Genre: Sport
Rating: 3.3/6
Language: English
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
If you're looking for a realistic and strategic pool simulation don't bother reading on because this game is more like an arcade game. But nevertheless it's great fun and it's freeware so there are no legal doubts ;)

Proliferation
Title Screen
Silicon Commander 2000
Genre: Strategy
Rating: 5/6
Language: English
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
The "Treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons" was signed in 1968. It was the attempt to stop all the small countries from gaining access to nuclear weapons. Only the five major 'official' powers were allowed to own atomics: the USA, Great Britain, France, the USSR and China. So this treaty secured the monopoly of these countries to nuclear weapons!

Pudgy
Title Screen
Spazz 2001
Genre: Action
Rating: 3/6
Language: -
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
This picture shows Pudgy. Pudgy is neat blob-like creature which lives in a strange world. A very harsh and hostile world in fact. Hardly fitting for a peaceful creature like him! But well... his instinct to survive is strong enough to prevent that he gives up himself. So what should he do? He has to find a way out of this world.

Quad
Title Screen
Nick Sumner 1988
Genre: Action
Rating: 3/6
Language: English
Licence: Freeware
System: C64
Breakout with a unique twist: Instead of one, you're controlling four paddles at once. One on each side of the screen, so up and down move the ones on the left and right vertically, and left and right move the ones on top and bottom horizontally.

R.A.F.
Title Screen
Meisters 1986
Genre: Strategy
Rating: 5/6
Language: Deutsch
Licence: Freeware
System: C64
Tired of all these modern 'anti-terror' - games? Hunting evil guys of whom you have no idea what kind of evil they've done gets boring? You're fed up with working for an anonymous 'government' with more than questionable ideals? Then choose the other side: become a terrorist!

Redhook's Revenge
Title Screen
ImagiSOFT 1993
Genre: Puzzle, Strategy
Rating: 4/6
Language: English
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
The most vicious pirates of the Carribean want to find out who is the biggest cutthroat, so they make a bet. They're all sailing the same route, and whoever can show the biggest amount of loot at the end of the journey wins. Master pirate Redhook plays the judge, but there aren't many rules - everything is allowed as long as it earns gold.

Roll 'm Up
Title Screen
Dommelsch 1999
Genre: Sport, Action
Rating: 3/6
Language: English

Pinball games were the big hype for some time some years ago. It was all started by 21st Century Entertainment with their Pinball Dreams . In the following years, every company produced similar games in masses, most of them without any innovation as usual. But they were all commercial, sold for the 'normal' price of 50$ for one game including between merely one to up to four tables. The question how such a ridiculously high price can be justified was already valid back then.

Skyroads
Title Screen
Bluemoon Software 1993
Genre: Sport, Action
Rating: 4.5/6
Language: English
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
One of the most addictive games I have ever played, Skyroads is a unique blend of puzzle, action and racing. The game was written in 1993 by the Estonian company Bluemoon Software (currently Bluemoon Interactive), and enjoyed a moderate success as a shareware title. Bluemoon has built up a sizable distribution network with this game, and so the game was worth more than the money it earned: it opened the doors for later Bluemoon games and applications to be sold.

Space Commanders 2
Title Screen
ajf 1983
Genre: Action
Rating: 2/6
Language: English
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
When and where this game was made, I have no idea. The age is based on the file, as in "not modified since 16-1-1984". So, what's it all about? It's a...Space Invaders clone!!! Not terribly original, but then again, it's from 1984, so maybe, just maybe, it was then.

Spielautomat
Title Screen
Mr Creosote 1993
Genre: Puzzle, Strategy
Rating: 0/6
Language: Deutsch
Licence: Freeware
System: PC
The first game I not only started, but also 'finished': the perfect simulation of an one-armed bandit.

Written in Quick Basic 4.5 after I had started to learn it at school shortly before.
