In contrary to the potential expectations considering the name, Brutal Sports Football does not have very much in common with soccer or football (or even sports). Some elements have been adopted, though. Two teams try to put a ball into the enemy's goal while guarding their own.

Racing on the C64 had a few problems, as you might remember. Games like these were hard to make due to the procedural nature of BASIC, and most of the racing game were really crap.
Well, you might just like to know that this thing is NOT a crap game at all. In fact, although featuring only 5 races, Buggy Boy is some of the most interesting pieces of software I've ever seen. And certainly one of the most interesting racing games of the '80s.

Visiting an old acquaintance... you probably know that, not having seen each other for a long time. Maybe you think back how it was. The good old days together... back then... you have lots of fun, it was wild times, fun times and so on. Now you're facing this old friend again - and... now what? Often, everything is different. Time has cut a rift you can't bridge anymore. You two have become alienated. That's a pity then. Then, there are the cases in which you stand face to face and it is almost like no day has passed at all.
After my last week's "dry" addition (Imperium) yet another game without noticeable sounds and graphics, but again it's well worth playing. CM 93 takes you into the English football divisions. Starting in Division 3 (the fourth highest league in England) you have to lead your club to the Premier League and European Stages. What makes CM-games different from most other football manager games is the fact that you're just the team manager which means that you don't have control over any finance-related sectors like advertisements or stadium improvements and that you're not always allowed to spend as much money on players as you want.
Chase H.Q., which first got into the arcades in 1988, is a racing game with a twist. Instead of just using the basic 'driving faster than the opponents', it adds another goal: catching another vehicle. The simple background story tells us something about a 'futuristic' police department called 'Chase H.Q.'. The player sits around in his sports car all day until he gets a call from Nancy from the headquarters, telling him about an escaped criminal who has to be caught again.

Before certain endlessly running series by a certain publisher on a certain system became common, the popular sports games originated on the Amiga. Just think of Kick Off or Sensible Soccer!
Every sport has been converted into a computer game already. Football, basketball, ice hockey and so on. Then there are some 'sports' which aren't really sports at all! Like for example motor racing, fishing, chess or...... darts. All these have one thing in common: no athletic ability is needed. So why call them sports then? Well, maybe so that the people doing it can proudly say I'm doing sports ;)

This is a neat little, yet highly addictive game, when you're into such kind of winter sports. In 'DSJ' you're a ski jumper trying to win the World Cup and beating all hill records.
First you should choose to practice some jumps on different hills. Controls are quite simple: Push a mouse button to start, push both simultaneously to jump off just before the table ends, balance your jumper with very gentle mouse movements to get the maximum lift and push a button to make a picture perfect Telemark landing. When you've made a bad jump or when you've gone too far it's better to make a safer two-footed landing by pressing both mouse buttons at the same time.

I thought long about which category to add this game to - either action or sport because it's a blending of these two: action-packed but also with reasonable competitive elements. So what is it all about?
