'Aces of the Deep' is IMHO the best part of the 'Aces'-series and by far the best WW2 submarine simulation. No other game could catch the intense battle of the German subs in the Atlantic in such realistic way like 'AoD'. Actual submarine and weapon developments, changes in convoy tactics, improving air cover of the Atlantic, historical events - everything you can expect is implemented in this game.
'Aces of the Pacific' is a very good air combat simulation which takes place in the Pacific in 1941-1945. A large variety of combat missions, airplanes, periods to start and realism settings guarantee almost infinite replayability.
That 'Aces over Europe' is kind of a sequel to 'Aces of the Pacific' becomes obvious at first sight. Graphfically nothing has changed, just some more sounds have been added; each plane has its own engine noise now. But nevertheless it's better than 'AotP' because most of its minor flaws have been removed.

Airline is a nice German business simulation where you try to build up and expand your airline worldwide. At the start you can either decide if you want to start a new company, expand an existing one or wish to bring an unprofitable airline back on the winning track.

'Blobby Volley' is another little but neat freeware game. As the name states it's kind of a volleyball game and somewhat resembles a beach volleyball variant. But here it's only one on one.
After my last week's "dry" addition (Imperium) yet another game without noticeable sounds and graphics, but again it's well worth playing. CM 93 takes you into the English football divisions. Starting in Division 3 (the fourth highest league in England) you have to lead your club to the Premier League and European Stages. What makes CM-games different from most other football manager games is the fact that you're just the team manager which means that you don't have control over any finance-related sectors like advertisements or stadium improvements and that you're not always allowed to spend as much money on players as you want.
"Civilization" is definitely one of Sid Meier's masterpieces and surely one of the most famous games of all times. The game is far too complex to be reviewed in its entirety. For further explanations look into the very extensive help files and the Civilopedia which come with the game.

You're the newly elected Prime Minister of Israel because your predecessor has been assassinated. Your task is to help Israel survive amidst the Arab nations by means of diplomacy and military.
Unlike the highly realistic 'Aces of the Deep' 'Das Boot' takes more emphasis on action elements then on tactical planning. This becomes obvious in several aspects which are discussed later. Graphics are quite ok for 1990 whereas the sound is minimalistic.

This is a neat little, yet highly addictive game, when you're into such kind of winter sports. In 'DSJ' you're a ski jumper trying to win the World Cup and beating all hill records.
First you should choose to practice some jumps on different hills. Controls are quite simple: Push a mouse button to start, push both simultaneously to jump off just before the table ends, balance your jumper with very gentle mouse movements to get the maximum lift and push a button to make a picture perfect Telemark landing. When you've made a bad jump or when you've gone too far it's better to make a safer two-footed landing by pressing both mouse buttons at the same time.
