Weee...yeah, I know I know, I'm a Championship Manager addict, too :) but since there's no CM for a C64, we'll have to use something like this, eh?
1st Division Manager is one of the few fairly good (although quite primitive) and realistic (again, although quite primitive) Commodore64 footie management games. Boosting a nice matchview engine (we don't have player animations in Champan :)), 1st Division Manager is an option for those who want to make a carreer out of this.

Wie könnte dieses Spielkonzept am besten beschrieben werden? Ja, genau - durch Nennung des großen kommerziellen Vorbilds! Zwei Probleme gibt es damit allerdings: Niemand wird das Original kennen und (noch schlimmer) sogar ich habe den Namen vergessen! Es war ein Sportspiel von Lucasfilm auf dem C64 (glaube ich zumindest, dass es dieses System war). Ergänzung: Es war Ballblazer von Lucasfilm auf dem alten Atari. Vielen Dank an Chris, der mich daran erinnert hat!

Dieses Spiel ist ein Muss für jeden Xanth-Fan! Ich habe die großartigen Bücher von Piers Anthony immer geliebt und verzweifelt nach einem darauf basierenden Computerspiel gesucht. Lange bevor ich das Grafikadventure kannte, fand ich dieses Spiel (und verlor es wieder bei einem Festplattencrash).

Acquire was one in a series of business board games created by Sid Sackson and released by 3M in the 1960s. Later, most of these games were released by Avalon Hill in the 1970s and 80s and are now the property of Hasbro. Acquire is probably the most exciting of this lot of games. It requires good thinking, great foresight, a little bit of luck and lots of attention. The computer version of the game can last only ten minutes, but these ten minutes will require your full attention. Due to the fact it is a board game, the replay value is extremely high.

Jeder, der dieses Spiel ausprobiert, wird die Ähnlichkeit mit Silent Service bemerken. Grafik, Sound und sogar die Bedienung sind fast identisch. Und auch das Thema unterscheidet sich nur unwesentlich: Statt eines U-Boots hat man hier einen britischen Zerstörer im 2. Weltkrieg zu befehligen.

A conversion of an immensely popular arcade game, Afterburner does everything in its power to deliver the same feeling, but fall short. A long time ago, when I still visited arcade halls, Afterburner was one of my favorite games, but also one of the hardest to play, due to the long line of people waiting for their turn. It was one of those games where you sat down into a seat, which moved with you as you turned the airplane, flew up or down. The soundtrack, a cheap copy of the Top Gun music, blasted from all sides.

"Airline" ist eine nette Wirtschaftssimulation, in der man versucht, eine Fluggesellschaft aufzubauen und weltweit aktiv zu werden. Am Anfang kann man wählen, ob man eine neue Gesellschaft starten will, eine existierende ausbauen möchte oder eine unprofitable Linie wieder auf die Gewinnerstraße bringen möchte.

"Yeah ok so its a routine plot". Mit dieser erfrischenden Ehrlichkeit begrüßt einen Alien Bash II, der Nachfolger eines ebenso unbekannten Freewarespiels. Im Vorgänger ist der Protagonist aus einem Gefängnisschiff der Aliens entkommen - oder sagen wir mal, er wäre, hätte jemand dieses nicht sonderlich gelungene Spiel bis zu Ende durchgehalten. Jetzt will er die Bedrohung durch Völkermord auf dem Heimatplaneten der Aliens ein für allemal beenden. Routine eben.
