FAQ: SNES

How do I play Super Nintendo games on my PC?
You need an 'emulator'. These programs make SNES game files run on PC. These emulators are available in the apps section.

What is a rar file?
The everlasting question. Rar files are compressed files similar to zip files. To extract them, you need the suitable program available here.

After extracting I get an smc file. What is this?
These files are the SNES games. You do not need to extract or change them somehow!

How do I run these files/How do I run the game?

Using the emulator ZSNES:
1. Run the emulator
2. In the menu Game, click on Load
3. Choose the directory containing the SNES game files
4. Click twice on the desired game

Using the emulator SNES9x:
1. Run the emulator
2. In the menu File, click on Open ROM
3. Choose the directory containing the SNES game files
4. Click twice on the desired game

My emulator is displayed on a small part of the screen. How can I change this?

ZSNES: In the menu Config/Video, the desired resolution can be chosen. Possibly select Full Screen to make it fit.

SNES9x: First choose Options/Display Configuration. There, select Full Screen and Stretch Image. Choose your desired resolution there, too.
