Indy-Fan:

This game is one of my all-time favourites. It took me dozends of tries until I was able to win the full 200 lap distance.

But I have two additional notes to this review:
1. All three cars have exactly the same speed. Only the default setup is different. But if you tweak the setup for the March or Buick, you can drive as fast as with the Penske.
2. The PC-speaker sound is indeed annoying. But there is soundcard support, you have to start the exe with parameters for that.
For example, to use Sound Blaster, start the game with "indy.exe /a".

My hat is off to you who actually completed this game. Especially considering it's just an 'easy' round course, it needs all the more concentration to be alert at all times.

Truly, you get lazy once and drift wide and everything is all over...

An interesting anecdote, the founder of one of the leading suppliers of racing safety equipment quit racing forever after he caught himself thinking about his kids school grades, and how he had to fix the gas heater when he got home while he was racing. This was at Indianapolis.

OMG! I loved this game! I'll never forget when I was in highschool and spent a whole weekend playing it. On the Sunday, I spent 5 hours attempting to complete a 200 lap race (with lots of game pausing every now and then for refreshments and lunch) only to crash on the 175th lap whilst in first position. I don't think I ever played it again after that. What a great game. What a great memory. Thanks.
