Actually, I was a bit disappointed when I played the old Road Rash on Master System. It's just too easy, and the fighting is worse than in the PC version.

Oh... I hopelessly loooove Road Rash, even after all those years. Note to myself: play it tonight again!

Yes, Road Rash is the one I meant :) I mostly played the PC version, so I didn't know which Sega it is exactly.

Road Rash is a Master System game. Maybe there's a Mega Drive version though.

Guns? That might be fun, too, but I was thinking of something more in the lines of baseball bats, chains and such - like in this old racing game for the Mega Drive.... what was the name again............... oh well, forget about it :(

Well, I have to admit, the AI driving the same way peeved me off too. If you track edit, you can see that you can only put down one AI "line". Not two or three, but only one that they try to crowd around. And yeah, it reminds me of Super Speed for the Atari 2600...

Mr Creosote: Then Hackorzzz the gamezz and put mad gunzzz in it.

I've just tried it for the first time and I could never finish a race against computer drivers (at speed (?) 50) without them all arriving one lap earlier than me. That might be lack of training. I particularly dislike the lack of weapons though :(

I downloaded the game and I think it's pretty good. It reminded me of some old games of the genre I used to play on the Spectrum, like the classic Super Sprint and Codemasters' Grand Prix Simulator.

I have to agree with some of the comments made on this thread, though: the computer opponents are very tough to beat and, what's worse, they always drive the same way, following the preset race line to perfection. Still, I find Grand Turismo 3 has the exact same problem and a lot of people say it's the best driving game ever made, so go figure.

For the moment I'm still having trouble beating them at 50, and that's without damage or fuel consumption turned on... The problem I have with the AI is that it doesn't make any mistakes, or at least I've never seen it make any; so either you have to set an opponent you can just keep up with, so you have some challenge, but he'll lap you at the slightest mistake you make; or you have to set them to drive way slower than you or give them a one-wheeler, so you drive much faster than them and have some room to make mistakes but no fun battling them...
I'm still practicing though, and haven't found my way through all the game options and all, so hopefully I'll get the hang of it :)

I played that game for awhile and ended up stoping playing. Guessed that, without the use of a proper joystick, playing was simply impossible if you had in mind to win against average computers (100 skill).

Well, you can turn down the AI speed, if that's what you're talking about, if you're talking about staying on the track, yeah, it takes a while to get used to it.

Yep that's me, and what is this you ask? Well it's from a forum of a particular awesome finnish freeware game Generally. (generally.cjb.net) It is sort of a 3rd person racing game, I guess you could say, and I'm kinda in a tournament for it. If you want, you cooould compete in it and then we'd have something other to do than post in the forum, but yeah, I just thought I'd mention it. Maybe I'm a bit too excited.

Thanks for all the fish,
Tuss

PS: I'm not leaving. really.
