As far as I can see, the English versions are translated from the German originals. Ususally both songs seem to consist of the same music with the lyrics in the respective language (if it's possible). The songs with German titles are completely in German normally. So far, I found one song ("Computer World") that has slightly different lyrics in both versions, and is not translated "literally". That doesn't change its "intention", though.

Meanwhile, I checked the song "Ruckzuck" of the first LP, and all I can do is agree to your description.

I've always wondered: do the german versions of Kraftwerk albums actually have different lyrics, or just different titles? Because most of their tracks that actually have lyrics have both English and German in them...

And you're right about their earlier stuff, those albums indeed have some 'real' instruments on them. Most of the time 'Ralf & Florian' sounds like a couple of guys trying to make classical music with some crappy 70s instruments and electronics; the result is something unique, sometimes it can really get on my nerves, sometimes it's very soothing, but it's definitely not 'easy listening'. I'd say give it a try if you ever have the chance, just don't expect to like it immediately.

"Computerwelt" / "Computer World" is my current favourite by Kraftwerk. Although I normally don't like "electronic music" very much, I appreciate their innovation and their minimalistic style. I haven't heard their first three albums including "Ralf und Florian", but I read that they are somewhat "less electronic".

Oh come on, you've got to love 'Computer World', it's one of my all-time favourite records. And 'Ralf & Florian', although exceptionally weird, is pretty neat too.

Apart from "Das Model", they don't really have much to offer

Yes, for one or two songs maybe I don't know more about this album than what I've just read on the Internet, but what I've found only tells there are various guests playing on this album: Peaches, Green Day, Sum 41 and also The (other) Stooges. "Little Electric Chair" is the only song I could confirm being the the (whole) Stooges (if you want to put it like that).

Tuss: But are they performing anything new, or just the old stuff?

Do you mean "Skull Ring"? That's - as far as I know - a regular Iggy album with guest appearances by several other musicians. Including the old Stooges crew.

Nope - they reunited with Iggy Pop; their album is scheduled for release in early November.

Perhaps NetDanzr means something like "The very very best of the Stooges" that is released every year.

Yesterday, I've heard three songs from the new Stooges album. I must confess that I almost liked the songs, which indicates they moved into a more commercial sound. Sorry to bring you the bad news, Mr Creosote.
