So simple. I just created the SAVE folder in the kolumbus directory and now it works. I can save the game without any problems.

Thanks a lot for the help.

I've tested to install "Christoph Kolumbus (1041)" on DOSBOX with MS-DOS 6.22 boot.

Install is worked well on DOSBOX.

But the comment "Installer won't recognize c:, seems to be a DosBox error."

In this case, you launch DOSBOX via kernel DOS not from MS-DOS or IBM-DOS.

I gave it a try and after getting an error message from DosBox (stating that it couldn't create a file called .../KOLUMBUS/SAVE/Savegame) I found a solution: Simply create a folder called SAVE in your kolumbus directory.

Try

Code:
attrib -r *.* /s

in the directory.

C:\Users\****\D-Fend Reloaded\VirtualHD\kolumbus

It is no problem to copy a file to that directory!

OK, but where on your file system is that located? As a test, can you copy an arbitrary file to that directory using your regular Windows user account? Not in Dosbox, in Windows.

Thank you for the fast respond.

In Windows 7 the game directory is in the virtualHD folder of 'd-fend reloaded'. But in the Dosbox it is at C:\Kolumbus. 'd-fend reloaded' put it there.
When I try to save the game it closes and I get 'Fehler beim speichern!' which means 'Error when storing!'
I haven't tryed to save another game yet. But I will try. Other game run well like that one too, it is only the problem at saving the game

First of all, I doubt you're playing the Amiga version in Dosbox. That would be an impossibility. Anyway, assuming the MS-DOS version, where on your actual hd did you put the game directory? Which host operating system are you using? Do other games work? What is the error message in the log file or on the terminal you launched Dosbox from?

Hi,

I found the game Christoph Kolumbus from 1994 by AMIGA at goodolddays. I am running it with d-fend reloaded because i am not pretty good at working with DOS. It work perfektly and it is a lot of fun to play.

But when i try to save the game the dosbox just shut down. Maybe it has to do with the admin rights and the game can not create a savegame file. But I have no idea how to fix that.

I tried some things but nothing worked. So I hope some of you can help me with my problem. Many thanks in advance.
