A forum can look mighty inviting if there are people who have been there for 3 or so years and has post counts in the thousands, it is a testament to the quality if one is willing to stay there so long. Unfortunately, the same person can chase off newer people with elitism. I say the more the merrier, and two people talking to each other in a forum is mighty boring. What I mean about intelligent comment is easy; as long as your post is larger than one line sentences (like salutations or puns) and that you show or explain an opinion.
