Member Baby Gumby Posts: 3 | Some time ago I interesting to play in Ultima VII. I found all parts separate(The Black Gate, Forge of Virtue, Serpent Isle, Silver Seed) as first release floppy images, except Ultima VII: The Black Gate, because first version - 12.03.1992 - which I found in TOSEC IBM PC set - http://ia601606.us.archive.org/zipview.php?zip=/22/items/IBM_PC_Compatibles_TOSEC_2012_04_23/IBM_PC_Compatibles_TOSEC_2012_04_23.zip - has 5 of 6 floppy images - floppy #2 is missing. I try to find it on the net, but I found only 02.06.1992 version in floppy images and different archives on different sites. Try to contact with some people, which possible have it, but without success - dont response or dont have possibilities to dump. I believe what someone somewhere have it. If anyone have it and can dump throught WinImage, for example, - please, send it in PM, as minimum. I will very glad for it. Thanks. |

Member Baby Gumby Posts: 3 | OK, but I dont see the point in keep without share like old historical documents before XX century. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | We do share, but with those who help to it. Maybe at a later time we will open the project to everybody, but right now it's a side job of the page. |

Moderator Deceased Gumby Posts: 1413 | Well, there is a lot of discussion about this topic, but for the reasons why it was decided to only give away images, if there is some kind of sharing, you might takte a look at this thread. Long story short: The main goal is to preserve those images, and if you think about how fragile those old floppies are, your comparison to documents from centuries past isn't that far of. Also we DO share disk images. I know there is a lot of misunderstanding on this part, but if you are willing to contribute we do grant you access to the images (take a look at the FAQ, especially the accounts section, too). On top of that, I also know, that it's kind of frustrating to search for that one game, but to not find it anywhere in this supposedly 'omniscient' internet. But don't give up, sometimes even the most exotic things (and Ultima VII certainly isn't all that exotic) turn up after all! ----- The known is finite, the unknown infinite. - Thomas Henry Huxley |
