Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Home of the Underdogs has a rip which promises to be almost complete. There are only three or four short 'movies' in the game, so those missing shouldn't hurt much. I haven't tried that version, though, so I can't tell if it keeps what it promises. Otherwise, I recommend you scout ebay for an original copy - it's worth it ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | I've tried it a while back and it's a pretty good adventure/rpg if you like the books... didn't feel like I was missing out on a lot... ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century. Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | In case that wasn't clear before: Of course I played the game (which doesn't have the slightest thing to do with 'RPG' by the way ), I was referring to the quality of this 'CD-rip' which I can't judge. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | I was on the other hand merely comparing the game to the books and thus I could deduce that not a lot is missing seeing as they match really good (although the end differs somewhat) and I siply called it adventure/rpg because Steve (whom I first thought to be Delos (damn confusing avatars ) called it an rpg and it's been to long to exactly remember the interface so I wasn't sure if there were some rpg-like elements... ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century. Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Well, the only longer animations are the intro (a dramatic: "We've come to the vortex to destroy the world" ) and the ending (should be clear without it, too). The only in-game animated sequence I remember is some 5 second scene of Zifnab pulling something out of his hat. As for the genre, I don't think there is another game which matches all definitions of 'Adventure' more perfectly ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |
