You may not have heard of Azpiri, but he was one of the main Spanish comic artists back in the 80s. Mostly known for his female drawings, he also made illustrations, such as several videogames covers, and various comics books, which included Mot, a tale about a boy and his monster.

I really like the panel within a panel style of the 'adventure' part, as crowded as it might get. Considering the age of the game this is really well done (especially because it still runs very fluid). Having a real comic artist for the illustrations certainly shows too.
