Member Prof Gumby Posts: 432 | Hey all, been a loong while. I've finally gotten around to cleaning up my old cd collection, and found some stuff you might be interested in. Problem is, I cannot really write reviews for it. I no longer have a working old computer, nor much (if any) gametime. It's all from ancient warez cd's my father got at some point. Date of it all is between 1995 and 1997. Not all of it is games, but a lot is, and several of them are stuff I don't even see on Mobygames. (Vermin for win95, Bicycle Classics, and quite a few others) If you want them, I can make a WeTransfer file out of the lot. If not, fine too, I'll toss them away. Hope to hear from you! ----- If it ain't broken, you're not trying hard enough. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | Hey, Johann, it's nice to see you're still around! But as you know, it's a bit hard to work with such a bleak outlook as the one you're providing (i.e. throw things over the fence and forget about it). Especially if you're not even saying what it is you're offering. Originally posted by Johann67 at 12:52 on March 15th, 2014: I can make a WeTransfer file out of the lot. I have no idea what that is. If you want to get the CDs to some potential use, though, – and I'm not promising anything about it being used – you can just image them and put them on our FTP server. If you don't have the access credentials, let me know. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 432 | Hey Creo! Nice to see you too. And almost at 7k posts, as well! I know very well that it's not a great deal that I'm offering. However, I don't know of everything what it is, and most of it will not run on Windows 7 while my poor winME machine has suffered a broken-psu-power-surge that fried quite a lot of the components in it, so i cannot run most stuff, let alone write reviews, even with time. I would not have offered had I not seen that some stuff was not even on Mobygames, and these cd's are very old (had to toss several as completely illegible) and if I don't get the info off them it will be lost. And I think that's a waste. Of course, I'll filter out the stuff I know to be worthless or common. Leisure suit Larry is on there, commandos 1, and the like, I assume you don't want those. I lost the ftp login in the same psu issue (hadn't used it in many years so it never got transferred and the old backups are gone), could you send it to me? A little more info: it's 12 cd's total. Crazy Bytes XV-Miami Vice (6 disks, basically warez collection) Crazy Bytes 20-Spice Bytes (4 disks, as above) and two disks that do not seem to have proper names. Of those two, one has an index that is incorrect even for the bit I can check (a lot is not on there) and the other just has a few zip/rar files of (I think) reasonably wellknown games so I'll skip those. The crazy bytes cds have an index(I remember it), but it's a 16-bit program and I cannot run that on a 64-bit pc. Also, many thanks. At least there is the potential for something useful coming from it, instead of lost games. ----- If it ain't broken, you're not trying hard enough. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | I can upload it to Hargle's Dos Collection, which is the biggest project trying to catalog MS-Dos games and gathers a lot of people which can be very interested on it. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 432 | I have no issues with the dos collection, assuming Creo does not mind. Maybe he has Good old days exclusives in mind or something...but it's 95-95, just after dos. ----- If it ain't broken, you're not trying hard enough. |
