Inspired by some of the rather… weird videos that came up in our discussion about Eurodance, I wanted to open up a thread for all the outstanding music videos that stuck to your mind for the one reason or the other. Whether they were particularily funny, creative or downright strange, just post them here!

So, to get things started here are:

Jarvis - Don't Let Him Waste Your Time: A rather unusual taxi trip. Really dig that disco ball. ;)
Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes: Ice sculptures, dancing alveoli, lots of colours and trippy music... what more could you ask for?

Dear Sir, I object strongly with the last thread, and the next post.

Mando Diao – Gloria

If this were a real movie, I would watch it!

Hey, me too! Reminds me of Sir Alice - L'Amour made in Taiwan

But as for movies I would like to see, Get Well Soon - Roland, I Feel You would definitely be on my top ten list.

Wow, both the song and the video are amazing! Only downside is that this will be hard to top :(

Nevertheless, here are two classics: Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't It Be Good and Camouflage - The Great Commandment.

Someone told me that it reminded him of Jodorowsky's El Topo, a film I definitely have to see now. ;)

On a similar note, but a bit too much over the top to my liking: Muse - Knights Of Cydonia

Nik Kershaw - Wouldn't It Be Good

Hey, I want that suit. :D

And here is a video from way back, sometime around 2000, when I was sitting at my university's canteen, relaxing after a lot of stress, and watching TV while drinking a cup of coffee: Placebo - Slave to The Wage. I distinctly remember the strange disintegration effects and that black haired girl.

Well done, Herr M. :) Well.. i don't know where to start, as i've got a mighty bunch of videos to offer... but let's start with this: Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight

Both the song and the video are amazing, and the implication of multiple personality disorder but altogether a holistic entity is very challenging to say the least :)

And this one just for the laughs i suppose: Cassius - Feeling For You

Nice one! And one of those mystery songs I heard a lot of times back in the days without ever knowing how it was called. Thanks for bringing back the memory. ;)

Oh my God… don't even know where to begin with this one. :o

Two more from me:
Wendy's Training Video Cold Drinks: If you ever wanted to know how to correctly serve soft drinks in a fast food restaurant.

Sinéad O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2U: Have a kind of soft spot for this one. I especially remember how my parents used to make fun of her ('Skinhead O'Connor') while I was thinking that she was the most beautiful woman in the world. ;)

Hm, strangely enough i've never seen nor heard this one. But yeah, funny.

Well, surely i do know both the song and the video. However, i saw the actual music video not that long ago, perhaps just a couple of years back (thanks internet, somehow i'd never get to see that on TV in my time or perhaps my memory just failed me). What can i say, she's got quite an unexpected look. I understand how that would correlate with a youthful notion of what beauty should be. I myself in my childhood would often like odd looking girls to put it mildly. Then again as children we never consider the sexual aspect when judging someone's appearance , which explains whimsical preferences. :) Anyway.. as much as i hate to say it, but she looks like a lesbian to me. And guess what, i just checked on her out of curiosity - yep.. somehow they all look similar, and i'm not sure it's because of the short haircut.

Anyway, here's another portion of oldschool pleasure:

Men At Work - Down Under - somehow this song and video give me a certain fantasy feeling, not sure why.

Talk Talk - It's a shame - and this one is simply nostalgic, although i never heard it as a kid or a teenager even.

It's an actual training video from a fast food chain. ;)

Well, I still think she is pretty. Probably not as beautiful as Siouxsie & The Banshees - The Last Beat Of My Heart (total tearjerker to me) or Zola Jesus - Clay Bodies (my definition of 'loss') or Björk - Bachelorette (super recursive video!), but still pretty. But then: Tastes differ. ;)

It's probably the 'Tanelorn rules' on that VW bus. ;)

This sounds ambient, ominous and psychedelic at the same time.

Björk - Bachelorette (super recursive video!), but still pretty.

Could never understand Bjork. I was interested in her at one point, and even wanted to buy a tape back in 'difficult' times, but now i'm glad i never did, cause the beauty of it totally escapes me. Not sure how to describe it.. a little depressing, kinda disharmonious, dissonant.. but perhaps that's exactly what her fans find cool about her.

Speaking of "pretty", i'm afraid i'm allured and mesmerized by this particular lady (i know it's generic to the point of indecency, but i can't help it):

Steve Blame feat. La Camilla - Give Me Your Love

And the following video has been obscure to vast majority of earthlings for some reason yet unknown, notwithstanding obvious high quality and rightfully deserved spot under the sun among other world top tracks, for some reason it never became popular. Perhaps it has to do with Michael Jackson having intercepted its line of glory at about the same time, which almost literally buried both the song and the video. By the way, he doesn't appear in the video, but they say it was still his voice included among other vocals which are of his brothers:

The Jacksons - Torture

Love both the song and the video. Simply amazing. For 1984, that is :)

As far as the Jacksons are concerned, this one is my favorite music video: Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel

Heh.. i thought this thread was about to get overgrown with moss. Appears that there are still a few enthusiasts among us left.

Erm, i don't mean to sound too captious, but we expect to see here music along with videos, as per the name of the thread. Not that i personally mind it, but just saying.. ;)

And no, i'm personally not familiar with these bands, as i'm not big into hard rock/metal stuff either. However, i do admire a couple of oldschool bands. And here it comes:

Accept - Balls To The Wall

Speaking of Manowar:

Manowar - Warriors of the world

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately there simply aren't any videos for the best songs.

Try these Lordi ones;

Heh, nice. Can't say it's my thing though, but admittedly more original than most modern metal bands. And anyway, like i said.. i'm not big into that.

Obscure but pretty awesome Depeche Mode-like band (german guys here should know it though):
Camouflage - Handsome

Weird video from Mr. Bungle, one of the most twisted and yet seemingly assiduously maintained but short-lasting projects of the past:
Mr. Bungle - Retrovertigo

And the last but not the least trippy video:
Crash Test Dummies - Keep A Lid On Things

Oh boy, lots of cool new stuff to watch. :)

Those japanese(?) thingies immediatly reminded me of good old Hi-Ho.

And more fitting to the current season to be jolly I would like to recommend: Christmas in heaven

Of course, though their only real hit was The Great Commandment, which also has a pretty nice video.
