I want to argue is useless, and bad

If a forum member wants to really take off his anger on us, he could create himself an alterego, with a new email, name, pictures and the rest, and use web proxies to post, this way no one could tell that they are the same person...
Let's have a test:

See , not even the ip-s are the same. You could ban the intruder, ban you will not ban the real author. Obviously , he could come back under one hundred and one identities as web proxies are easy to find, not talking about email adresses.
Obviously , this is just hypothetical. The last person banned in here wasn't my alter ego , even I was the only one suporting him. It just happens that I've exchanged a few emails with him, and saw he's not a bad person.

So, if someone is here to annoy people , he could always come under a fake identity. Instead, if that someone wasn't here for that, but really cared about his opinion and had a problem with language, he would continue disregarding any banning warnings.

Talk about pointing out the obvious! Are you trying to prove anything? Sorry to disappoint you, but all of this has been pointed out by the admins themselves some years ago. What you're underestimating is the time it takes to get a new e-mail address, though - that's a lot fussier than banning an account. Just like finding a new anonymous proxy takes more time than banning an IP. Just like finding a new ISP takes longer than reporting someone to the abuse department of someone`s current ISP.

Yes, he could, but no one does. We had a guy who came back with new names two or three times some time ago. After that it's getting boring even for the worst idiot.

I don't think you had to deal with a true psychopath yet, Tapuak. In my eyes, a true psychopath would hack the server, get our IP's and use them to determine our locations... Then (s)he'd just pick us off one by one...

Yeah, I know this forum has been a rather peaceful place so far - and I'm very glad about that. I guess the worst case was this guy who came here while some discussion about religion, shouting the lamest insults I've heard and then reducing his comments to writing "FASCISTS!!!!!!!!!!" all the time.

As he was a German, I doubt that he knew what "scum" is supposed to mean.

Actually the best thing was that he was writing "FASHISTS" all the time, and then good old English teacher Adhoc came in and told him how to spell it.

In nazi Germany, the country was divided into 'Gaus' (like states, but no actual independence, more like the French aequivalents, i.e. purely bureaucratic). a 'Gauleiter' was the highest official of such a 'Gau'.

Retrospectively, that's pretty strangwe because "GAU" is the abbreviation for a "worst-case scenario", too. For example, "Super-Gau" is often used to decribe a nuclear catastrophy.
