Both disks of Low Blow seem to be infected by Win.Trojan.Parity-2. Therefore be careful, when you use them. |

Member Zombie Gumby Posts: 3881 | @escarioth, Added: Lode Runner: The Legend Returns (2589): v1.0. Yes, we didn't have this one, only 1.2 Might and Magic IV: Clouds of Xeen (2590): A version we didn't have either! Might and Magic V: Darkside of Xeen (2591): Actually, disk 7 and 8 are both lossy, but I've managed to restore the two and they should be as good as new now. Note: please, in the future try not to use skip bad sectors feature unless real necessary i. e. the disk is definitely unreadable. As you can see, the potential hazard here is that we may never know if some of your disks were damaged in the first place, which could result in tons of corrupt and neglected images. If I didn't get suspicious and check on all disks just in case we would never know about the last one. So, while this is a very good feature, it may backfire painfully if misused. And unfortunately, UltraISO does not create any logs, reports, etc. Maniac Mansion (2592): Looks different from all our adds. Just how many versions and releases does this game have... Monopoly (2593): No issues detected. Also, looks definitely more original than ID 2134, at least the INSTALL.BAT timestamp seems to be perfectly legit now Not added: Manhunter 2: Matches ID 2444, which is now set to Verified The Secret of Monkey Island 2: Oops! These actually have their MBR's rebuilt by what seems to be a virus (AntiExe.A). There are further modifications on top of that, but it is otherwise a match to ID 1277. I suggest you get that one to restore your floppies. And be careful not to use the infected ones on your older machine, it might spread to your other disks if they aren't write protected, let alone infect your system! Thank you again for all your contributions, appreciated as always! ----- Cheer up! Remember the less you have, the more there is to get. ----- Edited by Moebius at 19:30 on May 9th, 2018 |

Member Master Gumby Posts: 131 | ok round number 2 about the last batch. i had problems with both monopoly and Might and magic V disk 7-8 Monopoly -------- -Monopoly went smoothly this time with absolutely no error. (Hell, tryed like 5 times yesterday and there was always something acting badly) so im re-uploading it so you can verify if everything is good M&M V (disk 7 & 8) --------------------- -Disk 7 still has 1 error right at begining BUT the rest of the disk was fine (wich wasnt when i made it first yesterday) -Disk 8 went smoothly with no errors so ill re-upload it make change if you need USB floppy drive is driving me nuts, so ill change later when i figure how to make that new (old) computer back on track with win98. x_x ----- So much games...so little time.. now 425 boxed PC games. more coming ! |

Member Zombie Gumby Posts: 3881 | @escarioth, Re-uploaded: Monopoly (2593): The only difference this time is clean blank sectors at the end of the disk as opposed to messy ones from the first upload, but other than that the root data was never effected. Your USB drive is very weird. If only I knew what it did the first time I would've easily fixed it myself Might and Magic V: Darkside of Xeen (2591): Only disk 8 was replaced. Same thing as Monopoly, only the last few blank sectors were messy which, naturally, I didn't pay attention to because they shouldn't haven been affected in the first place. The rest I fixed well Disk 7 has errors again like you said, but now the blank part is replaced with NULL bytes for some reason, AND you got embedded access timestamp on XEEN.A06. Did you run antivirus check on it or something? Just really curious how did you get it changed so quickly. ----- Cheer up! Member Zombie Gumby Posts: 3881 | Quote: ah yes i was wondering if i could somehow repair disk with window's tool. That explains it perfectly. Just keep in mind, doing that under Win9x can change the original OEM ID and embed CT/AT Quote: so i guess ill help myself with disk 7 you corrected just to be sure to have a working image stored. I can't give you 100% that it's exactly the same as original, only 99% At least the last few sectors weren't affected which leads me to assume this one should be perfect. And all files are ok, you can be sure of that. ----- Cheer up! Remember the less you have, the more there is to get. ----- Edited by Moebius at 17:57 on May 10th, 2018 |
