Member Student Gumby Posts: 32 | allright, I have another question now... for example I don't see Super Tetris listed at all, do I just link the files here and you'll take care of the rest? Also how do I know if a game is listed but lacks or has images? I can't see anywhere on a game's page this info? ----- Edited by keropi at 15:18 on September 20th, 2017 |

Just use our upload form to upload files. Ideally, you should dump all of your floppy disks, because you might have different versions of the games which are already present on the site or were simply dumped incorrectly with no chance of revision due to missing original media. Quote: Also how do I know if a game is listed but lacks or has images? I can't see anywhere on a game's page this info? If you see the game on the list it means it's there. Sometimes the files are hidden for certain reasons, but they are still there. You can contact Mr Creosote for details. Also, do not mistake disk image info page with game profiles containing reviews, screenshots etc. The latter do not reflect the total amount of disk images on the site. ----- Cheer up! Member Student Gumby Posts: 32 | Ah, thanks for the replies Vagabond - it cleared things up. I remember last time I also uploaded all my stuff. About format, some images I made with TELEDISK, others with DiskCopyFast (.DCF they seem to be the same as IMG files though) is this acceptable? @flyer80 , Mr Creosote thanks for the kind words! ----- Edited by keropi at 17:11 on September 20th, 2017 |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | Maybe normal (standard) disk format image will be accepted. But you can dump it as normal image by dcopy.exe. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | DCOPY.EXE http://www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/utils/othersys/dcopy.zip Usage : DCOPY A: DISK1.IMA This is for normal standard disk. (No BAD SEC, Hidden Track) I think Teledisk / ImageDisk / Snatchit can be dumped with Bad Sector but not all the disks are dumped. I wonder you have Kryoflux or SCP. |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 32 | ah I get it... it works like DCF then - it does produce images that open with every .IMG program I tried. Some games do have bad sectors - or at least what it seems like a bad sector - in the end tracks where no data exists. I only found TELEDISK to work OK with them - HD-COPY would be OK too but it cannot produce usable 360kb/720kb images. I have thought about getting a Kryoflux but it's not possible atm. I also remember you helped me with fixes on my previous disk images as one can never know what the previous owner did. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | @keropi Mean 18 has disk copy protection. This can be dumped by Teledisk / Snatchit. Also I have fixed a lot of bad dumped disk image. |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 32 | what about Super Tetris? Both 5.25" 360kb disks have an unreadable track40 - it's not copy protection or anything like that as the disks are only used for installation (there is a doc check) I assume it's the duplication factory's way of making the disks, unused tracks remain unformatted or something like that. Is there any other way other than TELEDISK that uses no special hardware? |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | Super Tetris doesn't have disk copy protection but manual protection. I can fix it if you upload broken disk image. ----- Edited by ibmpc5150 at 19:06 on September 20th, 2017 |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 32 | Yes but is it broken in the first place? Or just a duplication machine setting to not touch unused sectors so they remain unformated? Because all files read 100% as-is |

Member Master Gumby Posts: 121 | Great collection, keropi! I hope you enjoy all your new findings. And I expect every dump disk image will be welcome here. @ibmpc5150: Why is it needed to upload a broken image in the first place, if you already have a working copy? It might be easier and faster, if keropi could skip it and you upload yours instead. ----- Edited by fuxxxyfloppy at 13:17 on September 21st, 2017 |
