Another tournament?

In spite of the problems we had with the organisation, I thought the Micro Machines tournament was actually a lot fun! So, is anyone up for another one? I think the following games would be suited. Feel free to suggest others.

Bomberman
Blobby Volleyball

Both don't require much practice, after playing them three times, you're as good as any other player. That should be a prerequisite for 'tournament games' in my opinion.

I'll be up for it. Although current project at work needs to be delivered by 24th Nov so until thats done I havent got much spare time in evenings/weelends.

Bomberman sounds good, ive never played Blobby Vollyball but I'll give it a go sometime over the weekend. ...and I wouldnt say no to a game of Micro Machines if others are interested.

As I said before, I'm always up for a game of Micro Machines (just send me a message), but I'd prefer something else for a tournament this time, just for the sake of doing something different ;)

Is Blobby Vollyball a network game? It must be since you suggest it. But I would like to try something that doesn't depend on the ZSNES network connects, because I got some really bad connections with that. (Pada1?)
Anyway, so my vote is with the Blob Vollyball one.

Blobby Vollyball is really weird. Why is easier harder than hard?

Edit2: The one on the homepage is newer than the one on The Good Old Days... thus maybe Carl has a bug.

Edit3: Nevermind... It says in the readme that the network connection thing has problems. This would have to be tested?

I'd prefer Bomberman, but Volleyball would be alright, too.

Tapuak and I tested Blobby over the Internet approximately a year ago. I'd have to do some additional testing for it now, though, to see if I have to set up new portforwarders on the router.

That game looks more like jelly bean volleyball. :P
I wonder if people using znes and people using snes9x can connect to each other?

I hope this doesn't come as a shock to anyone, but I've never heard of Bomberman. Can anyone tell me where to get it? I like the Blobby game, but I'll have to try it on my 'old' computer to make sure it runs smoothly, otherwise I'd only be available on weekends. So I'll be able to tell you more next week...

Too bad the emulator doesn't support a 4-way :(

I guess they can't, but SNES9x sucks anyway. ;)

Blobby Volleyball seems to run fine on my good ol' Pentium 200, so if that's what you're going to play, I'm in.

I'd give ZSNES a try too (although I think my computer is a bit slow for it), but in that case I'll need this Bomberman game; which by the way still doesn't ring a bell, so I don't think I've ever played it or even seen it before. :embarassed:

People who have 'signed up' so far (preference in parantheses):

Mr Creosote
fretz (Bomberman)
Tuss (Blobby)
Tapuak (Bomberman)
Mole (Blobby)

More people welcome, other game suggestions as well (even though nobody really seemed to oppose my two...).

Why should one be opposed to a game? We can still play the other one later anyway... ;)

I meant it more like for example "game x would be indefinitely better" or "I'll only take part if it's game y" ;)

Doesn't look as if more people are interested, so I guess we can start. Since some had arguments of technical nature against Bomberman, let's just start with the other one. We'll use the version offered at TGOD since Tapuak and me had technical problems with a newer one. Try to get some practice, and if anyone doesn't want to take part anymore, say it now, please!

Oh yes, before we start, I need someone to help me test the portforwarding requirements of that game. If anyone could be so nice to volunteer...

Tapuak and I just did another test run. It's working. I strongly recommend you try to get used to keyboard controls, though. The (in theory superior) mouse controls acted really screwy...

I've played the game quite a few times against my friends now, using the keyboard, so I'm up for it anytime, but I'd like to try a test game just to make sure I can connect to you guys. Anyone up for it?
