Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | That's it for England. Some will probably blame it on the injury of Mickey Rooney. Anyway, I thought it was clear when this one English goal wasn't counted. Too bad, yet another shitty team still in the tournament ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | I'm glad England got kicked out. Even though the Portuguese didn't play that much better, it serves England right for stalling almost 30 minutes after the first goal. They should've gone for a 2-0 lead but they didn't even try untill Portugal made the equaliser. And the way I see it that goal which wasn't counted was rightfully so ignored... Ricardo might have jumped into those 2 English players but what I saw was a white shoulder pushing him down so he couldn't reach the ball. Besides, I loathe Beckham ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century. But this, of course, is highly unthinkable" |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | Yes, not counting the goal was the correct decision, of course. I meant it in a psychological way that it was decided after that ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | That was a deserved victory of the future champion against the crappy French! Worst player of the day: Makelele (spelling?). Go Greece! ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 336 | Well, I spent about 25 hrs and 30 mins seriously, seriously pissed off because of Englands defeat, but for some reason my life now seems complete again, no worries, no bad memories...everything is peachy, because the french have been BOOTED by a rank outsider Good riddence! |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | Sweden - Netherlands was a completely dull game. Neither team would have deserved to advance to the next round. The worst thing about it: Either the Netherland or Portugal will now definitely be in the final ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

I agree he hasnt been the best, but it will take a really 'good' player to steal the title of 'worst player' from beckham, hes was utter shite for almost every minute of every game. Im pleased the Dutch made it through in the way they did as they had been knocked out for the past 3 tournaments on pens, I bet there are some big hangovers in Amsterdam this morning |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | My preferences: Holland is out of the tournament, that's the most important thing. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 607 | Both teams deserve to win today, although I'd prefer the Czechs (just out of sympathy for some of their players). Whoever wins, it'd be great if they beat Portugal, but that's not going to be easy - even if Greece have already proven to be capable of doing it. ----- "One Very Important Thought" |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | I don't acknowledge the validity of yesterday's match anyway. Both teams are already out for their complete shittiness in my book. That is why today's winner is also the rightful European champion ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | I just noticed that it'll go the way of '88 either way: Either the second of the group will beat the first (Greece wins) or the result of the first game between those two teams will be reversed (Portugal wins) ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |
