Do you know this feeling? There is a game, you see it should be really great, just right for you… but it's just too hard, you're getting nowhere. Still, it is so appealing that you try again, again and again.

For me, one is Myth. I had this on the Amiga early on, and it simply looked great. Super cool end bosses judging from screenshots and seeing others play it. But I keep failing very early on.

Examples where persistence finally payed off after years and years: Chaos Engine and ADOM.

Took me several attempts over the years. At the moment of my review I was stuck in the last battlescreens without a glim of hope for getting the game done. Then after some more months I was finally successful and was able to post the end sequence-screenshots. What a nice feeling!

If, when reaching the ending, it feels satisfying, it was worth the journey. Though then, there are those games where you suddenly realize of how much lifetime you've been robbed when completing them… ;)
