Member Prof Gumby Posts: 432 | I'm wondering...does anyone have this game? I recently dusted it off. I hadn't played it for years, and never on my current computer. The problem is, that (minor spoiler) my game hangs whenever I finish shamara's bedchamber and jump from the 40-floor building. I can't seem to pass it, not even slowing down my comp helps(it may be a timing bug, I read somewhere) Now, my question is, does anyone have a save from right past that point?(entering the ship) (end of spoiler) It would really be helpful. (yes, I checked google) ----- If it ain't broken, you're not trying hard enough. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 488 | That's the very beginning of the game! No idea why it han[g]s, it always worked for me... But then again, it's a Sierra game... You can always expect weird bugs/spyware/bad coding for those games, altough most of the time they are excellent... Guess you can't have everything at once... Member Prof Gumby Posts: 607 | I don't know if this is about the same scene that you mean, but it sounds a bit like it: Quote: From http://www.allowe.com/Larry/troubleshooting.htm: If this is not what you were talking about, be sure to visit the page, there may be something else to help you...Larry 7: Balcony lockup Error This problem is generally caused by a sound card lockup with the game. Try pressing one of your Function Keys when Larry jumps from the balcony. The Function Keys will produce bodily function sounds instead of the sound that is causing this lockup. It is also best to make sure that you are loading the most recent drivers for your sound card. The drivers are the software that controls the hardware on your system. Driver updates are usually free if you can download them from the manufacturer's Web site. Updated drivers will often help your system run more efficiently. ----- "One Very Important Thought" |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Probably a stupid suggestion, but if it's a soundcard related problem, have you just tried disabling sound for this scene, play it, and turn it on again afterwards? ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |
