Member Prof Gumby Posts: 432 | Apart from the reviewing, I just finished the Ben Jordan series (adventure game studio's finest, IMO, especially 3 and 4), and I'm now playing Duke Nukem 3d again. Strange, how fast I forget all the secrets...Also, I'm playing Blades of Avernum. When I beta-tested it, I never got very far into the game. Now I can. ----- If it ain't broken, you're not trying hard enough. |

That took me AGES... The game is not bad indeed, but the downside is the controls. They're quite inaccurate when it comes to placing a unit at a certain spot. Controlling large groups is also very hard. The routing is bad - the units tend to take the wrong path when they're in a group. Ever tried to send five tanks to a transport ship at once? They get stuck all the time. As for finding all enemies, I got used to increasing the game speed at the end of a level. A very comfortable option. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | Sim City 4 - a good game, but basically, nothing has changed since the first part has been released. In my opinion it's better than part 1-3, though. There's more space for large cities, and you have a "region" that enables you to build several cities on one map (or one really huge city instead). |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | The screenshots I saw of it when it was released looked quite bad, but it would be very hard to kill such a great concept. I'm still searching for any difference between 2000 and 3 apart from garbage dumps, though Currently running on my computers... Witness. Excellent 1930s detective thriller which starts with your employer, whom you were to protect, being killed. So, in a way, you're both main witness and detective at the same time. I'm not through yet, but it'll definitely end up on the site once I am. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Fortunately, part 4 is harder again. The famous moment where the game starts to become a virtual sandpit is missing. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | By a more limited budget. Hospitals, police, schools and so on are more expensive, and recration facilities such as parks cost a monthly amount as well. As they are so expensive, the monthly budget of an institution has to be adjusted seperately, i.e. you provide more money for a specific police station, and its radius will increase. Altogether, income and expenses are far more balanced, and your income doesn't necessarily exceed your expenses once the city has reached a certain size (as it used to be in part 3). |
