Member Student Gumby Posts: 29 | Thank you. Do you know a probability to combine Clouds of Xeen and Dark Side of Xeen to World of Xeen? I know with the original it was possible, although I don't know how. Any ideas? EDIT: Google's my friend Just copy the xeen.cc into the mmV-diretory, execute the install and be happy ever after. Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Er... it says so right here on this site... both in the news and in the reviews. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 29 | Well, not as detailed as needed. Becaus I copied the dark.cc into the MMIV-directory. And that way it doesn't work. *g* So you have to know which files have to be overwritten and that is neither in the reviews nor in the news. But you are right, that the news and reviews both tell that it is possible at all. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Ok, to add the step-by-step instructions, I'll have to make sure they're correct: 1. Copy xeen.cc from MMIV to MMV. 2. Execute install? Run the 'install' executable? For what purpose - what happens then? Edited by Mr Creosote at 11:16 on October, 03rd 2005 ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 29 | The first step is enough to combine them. I let the install.exe run, because I didn't like the soundsetting "PC Speaker" |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 29 | You need the manual of "Clouds of Xeen" (Link) to get out of the first town (which indeed is the copy protection ) With the "World of Xeen"-manual it is not possible to answer the question. Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Thanks, but is that one manual enough? No check for 'Darkside of Xeen'? Also, is the check present in 'World of Xeen', so is the same manual needed for two entries? ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | Sorry for not guiving instructions for joining the games, I had a copy with that already done, and withouth copy protection so I can't help with that, and also I had not found the manuals for the game, just the maps. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | After taking a look, World of Xeen does ask the copy protection question. Darkside of Xeen does not ask one when exiting the town, unless there is a chance of being asked each time you cross the door, which I doubt. |

Member Student Gumby Posts: 29 | You're just asked, when leaving Vertigo (the city, where you beginn in World of Xeen). As far as I know it is really just that question being asked. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | The copy of MM5 haves a bat called "go", if you put it in the MM4 directory and start the game using it the question accepts any answer. Edited by Wandrell at 18:24 on October, 04th 2005 |

That's highly unlikely, as GO.BAT just calls a crack executable which is present in neither of the archives.----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | Weird then but worked for me. Can another person try it? |
Posted at 12:12 on October 4th, 2005 | Quote | Edit | Delete | |
Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | Well, after trying it again, it seems that the game is cracked, but not always works well. Writing only one letter works, the better would be trying to go outside as soon as possible and continue the game if it accepts your answer. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | For World of Xeen (I was trying just MM4 alone) it seems that there is no way to avoid the question, but I have a copy cracked as I said. If necessary it can be uploaded. Edited by Wandrell at 20:22 on October, 04th 2005 |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | It doesn't matter now that the manual is online. And by the way: There's no need to make several posts in a row - you can edit your existing ones. That's fine if nobody has posted in between. Edited by Mr Creosote at 23:13 on October, 04th 2005 ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |
