Member Baby Gumby Posts: 5 | Hi, I know this question has been asked before but I have looked through the other threads posted here but still can't manage to get noctropolis to install. I am running the latest version of Dosbox and have tried mounting a virtual cd image from Daemon as the D: drive using the -t cdrom switch, and I have also burnt the cd image onto a cdrom using MagicISO, again using the -t cdrom switch. I mount the root of C: in dosbox using mount c c: I can run the installation file ok, follow the prompts using new installation directories, and I have tried with ones that exist but then I get a screen that says please insert CD#1 to continue the installation process but when I click on continue nothing happens. When burning the CD should I have created it with a serial or something so that the program recognises it as the installation CD? |

Member Baby Gumby Posts: 5 | Ok, installing the english version as downloaded from goodolddays.net Here is step by step to what I am doing using a CD that I have burned from the ISO file using Nero. Opening DOSBox v0.65 (downloaded 2 days ago so assume its the most recent version) Mount c c: mount d d: -t cdrom d: Install (Welcome screen pops up saying about installation process) Click on Continue Select drive C: and continue installation directory set as c: octrop (which does not already exist) continue Installation ready to begin, confirm directory, continue Pop up headed "New Disk" says Please insert CD # 1 to continue the install process Click continue but nothing happens and thats as far as I can get!!! |

![]() Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11573 | That looks alright. Anything went wrong during the download (did you resume it?) or while extracting the archive? What's the hash value (md5) of the ISO file? ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Sorry don't know what you mean there |

Member Baby Gumby Posts: 5 | Thanks, Ok the hash number for the downloaded .rar file is: 2a7f91f55455b43d47117479bbe1f892 and for the iso file is: 90004887a452964beda01fe677e7da49 Hope this is what you were after |

![]() Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11573 | Yes, this is exactly what I meant. Unfortunately, the hashes match the ones I have here, so it's definitely not a download-related problem. The only two options which come to my mind now are these: -something went wrong burning the image -incompatibility with Dosbox Edit: Just tried it with Dosbox 0.63. Absolutely no problems there. ![]() Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11573 | Well, do we see a problem there? If you had the game on a physical CD in your drive, would you try installing both from and to it, too? Or are you just entering commands without the faintest clue what they mean? ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | I would prepare it this way. Using D: as the real CD-Rom reader and C: as the real hard-disk. Using c:games as the virtual hard-drive. mount c c:games mount d d: -t cdrom d: install Then you would simply go to the folder where it has been installed and run it. |

![]() Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11573 | That means you didn't install the game, but you're trying to run it directly from the CD. Just do exactly what Wandrell or gard said, not toprit's version.
