HI

Just got a copy of this classic rpg game but installed ok but when playing cant get no sound at all.
I have windows xp with amd processer and soundblaster audigy card
I am a not an expert in these matters so if anyone can help please give me a step by step guide.

You won't have much of a chance if you're running it from Windows directly. For example, it's highly unlikely that your sound card is set to the standard values for IRQ, DMA and port which were used at the time the game came out. And even if it were, the complete sound architecture is fundamentally different anyway.

Your best bet is to add another level of indirection, i.e. an emulator of some sort. If you just have problems with sound any everything else is fine, you can try VDMSound which emulates a 'legacy' sound card. By now, that project has become rather dated as you'll see on the site, but it might be the right tool for the job. Alternatively, you can emulate a complete MS-DOS environment (including sound) by using Dosbox, for example. The latter would be the better way if you plan to play more games made for MS-DOS, because sooner or later, you'll run into games which won't run on Windows at all and VDMSound can't help in such cases.
