Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | A question somewhat referring to "the good old days" as well. The James Bond movie series started in the early sixties and is a real classic in my opinion. The super agent was played by five different actors so far. So who made the best impression while saving the world? Sean Connery George Lazenby Roger Moore Timothy Dalton Pierce Brosnan |

Member Master Gumby Posts: 103 | As far as I'm concerned there's no competition: it's Sean Connery all the way. He's got the charm, he's got the wit, he's got the dry humour to go along with the Martinis, he is Bond. And what's more, he could probably still be doing it today, as he seems to get better and better with age. Pierce Brosnan is nice as well, and for me the absolute worst was Timothy Dalton. He acted more like a thug than an agent in Her Majesty's service. ----- C'est pas la chute qu'importe -- c'est l'atterrissage |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11126 | I can't really decide between Sean Connery and Roger Moore. They both put some real style into that role, their movies are always fun to watch. The worst one is certainly Pierce Brosnan (by far), followed by Lazenby and Dalton in the middle. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Dr Gumby Posts: 202 | At first I hated Pierce Brosnan after seeing Sean Connery, but I've grown used to him as he's more modern, more futuristic, so my vote goes to him. Personally, I like Sean Connery now he's older and his beard suits him well. Entrapment and First Knight I feel are excellent because he's such a good actor. ----- Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 607 | Sean Connery definitely has my vote; he's the original, the real deal, or as Dizzy puts it: he is Bond... I didn't know Peter Sellers ever played Bond but he's a great actor, in my opinion a better one than any of the other Bonds (excluding Sean Connery); although I doubt James Bond is the best part for him... Of all the others I have a particular dislike for Roger Moore, just because a lot of people seem to think he is the ultimate James Bond; I know this is a matter of taste, but I can't stand the man... He's a perfect gentleman, true, and British as can be, but he's a total wuss compared to Connery... ----- "One Very Important Thought" |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11126 | The movie Peter Sellers played Bond in was made by Woody Allen - do I have to say more about its (lack of) quality? ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 607 | No, thanks. I don't think Peter Sellers would be convincing as Bond anyway, but the Pink Panther movies are classics. Especially the first one, A Shot In The Dark, was hilarious... so I mentioned him just to give him some credit too. ----- "One Very Important Thought" |

Member Master Gumby Posts: 103 | Nope. But I would like to support Woody Allen. Not only is he a great director, he'd probably make a great Bond as well, albeit a very schyzophrenic one. He seems to have the sex drive part worked out, though. ----- C'est pas la chute qu'importe -- c'est l'atterrissage |
