Review by Underdogs:
This long-awaited sequel to Elite casts you as the grandchild of captain Jameson, the protagonist of Elite. The goal is still to become Elite by killing as many other ships as possible, but you now also have an imperial and a federal military rank, which you can advance by doing missions. Among the best improvements is the immense amount of detail you see when landing on planets or docking. Unfortunately these strong points are marred by the confusing interface, weak computer AI, and repetitive worlds. It's not up to par with Elite, but still fun nonetheless.

Great news for fans! David Braben's website, The Elite Club, has released the game and First Encounters, the sequel, as shareware :) Now is your chance to legitimate experience what is one of the most underrated games ever made! Fully patched, of course :)
