Review by Underdogs:
Arya Vaiv is a little-known and only slightly above average 2D vertical shooter from Dongleware. The all-too-familiar goal: shoot everything in sight and avoid enemy fire. Not much more to say than that - if you have played classics like Tyrian, the drab palette and undetailed backgrounds of Arya Vaiv will make you go back to those games in a hurry. There are two things about the game worth mentioning, though. First, you can use keyboard, mouse, or joystick to control the ship: this gives a greater range of options than most shooters at the time. Second, you can choose what kind of weapon power-up to get by shooting objects in the correct order: different order gives you different power-up. Unfortunately, boring level designs and lack of enemy variety make the overall game an average one at best.
