Review by Underdogs:
Push-Push Penguin is a superb remake of Pengo, SEGA's classic arcade game. Designer team Black Cat did a superb job of recreating the addiction on the PC, but also went above and beyond the call of duty by adding a lot of new power-ups, a cool "combo system," and many new bad guys. Like in the original, your goal is "...to guide Pen-Pen or his sweetheart Deda-Deda around the mazes and try to crush all monsters on screen with the Ice Blocks scattered around. Use the Action button to push the ice block or crush it if it cannot be pushed. If you face the outer wall and press the Action button then you will start breathing the icy breath onto them which will make them freeze. If there are any monsters walking by the frozen wall they will get instantly stunned and you can use this ability to crush them with an ice block. Try to spell BONUS for surprise, and rack up combo scores by killing Snow Trolls in various imaginative ways."

Superbly animated graphics that rival commercial NES games, addictive gameplay, and cool new power-ups/enemies make Push-Push Penguin one of the most polished fanmade games you'll ever come across. If you enjoy the likes of Head Over Heels, check out this charming little underdog that was coded as an entry in the 2004 Retro Remakes Competition. Two thumbs up, way up!
