Review by Underdogs:
Overgod is a fun freeform shooter from Captain Pork, maker of Lacewing and Captain Pork's Revenge, two solid action games reviewed earlier on this site. The (somewhat superfluous) plot: "For too long has humanity been ruled by cruel and disputatious gods! Fly through the various layers of the Celestial Oversphere to unseat those who control the universe. Basically, you control a small ship in the middle of the screen, moving around and shooting things. The game offers attractive abstract graphics, over 100 different enemies, addictive random gameplay, various modes and unlockable "challenges," and two-player splitscreen mode. If you enjoyed Lacewing or "random chaos" kind of action games, check out this little gem from one of the most underrated freeware developers. Recommended!
