Last Action Hero

Psygnosis 1994
Genre: Action
Rating: 0/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

A whole bunch of unvoluntary humor! This game confirm several cliches at once.

1. A movie conversion

The game has nothing (really nothing) to do with the film. Some very short video excerpts are shown betweenthe levels but that's all. A few characters and settings from the film show up but they are futile.

Last Day of Summer

The exact plot remains sketchy: The protagonist, the son of a farmer, apparantely still young, but of unspecified age, goes to town alone to sell some cranberries. Law of the West

Accolade 1986
Genre: Adventure, Action
Rating: 4/6
Licence: Commercial
System: C64

You know what would suck even more than living in a town where everyone does not only own a gun and always walks around carrying it, but is also trigger happy? Being the person who is obliged to uphold law and order in such a town. However, in a computer game where the worst thing which can happen to you is the game over screen, it can actually turn into fun.

Lazy Jones

lazy00.png
Terminal Software 1984
Genre: Action
Rating: 2/6
Licence: Commercial
System: ZX Spectrum

Ever played a computer game inside a computer game? How about a computer game inside a computer game inside... oh, what the hell. Meet Lazy Jones, a negligent hotel janitor who only wants to play video games, no more no less. But it's not always easy, as you can probably tell from your own childhood experience (if only childhood) and there is always someone or something in the way. Your mission as of now is to visit every room in this hotel and play all the games you can find in there without getting caught slacking.

On board is the friendly alien called Barth whose home world, Planet X, has just been conquered by the evil Leather Goddesses of Phobos. Who, as expected, turned all the inhabitants into sex slaves.

Legend

Mindscape 1991
Genre: RPG, Action
Rating: 5/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

I have to admit that I'm preoccupied. In the good old Amiga times I haven?t played any game more than this one. After discovering it again I was instantly caught by its old magic. The land of Trazere is swept by the waves of a mighty evil's dreams which flood the country. By hacking through dungeons the 4 heroes gather experience and get ever closer to their goal...

Legend of Grimrock

00001.jpg
Almost Human Games 2012
Genre: RPG
Rating: 5/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

When many people wish the same things usually nothing happens, but a few times, very few, we get the thing we all hoped to see. One of the oldest dreams of any RPG fan is a dungeon crawler of the old kind, giving the same simple fun the first games of that genre gave. And we got it, a great example of the paradoxical virtue of refining an old formula into something new, while at the same time managing to stay classical.

Legend of Kyrandia

main_000.png
Westwood Studios 1992
Genre: Adventure
Rating: 3.5/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

The evil jester Malcolm has escaped from his prison. Now he's draining all the magical energy of the realm. None of the court magicians can withstand his powers. As a sign of extreme evil, he has turned Kallak (one of the elders or something) into stone.

Legend of Kyrandia 2 – Hand Of Fate

hf_000.png
Westwood Studios 1993
Genre: Adventure
Rating: 4.3/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

Kyrandia is in trouble again! But this time it's not that easy to determine where it comes from. The realm is slowly disappearing bit by bit. The royal Mystics don't have a clue what to do (that rhymes ;). But fortunately, a giant hand has obviously experienced this phenomenon before: someone needs to retrieve the anchor stone from the center of the world. On the hand's diagram of the world, you can clearly see a lot of lava there, but who cares? The youngest member of the mystics is chosen for this mission: Zanthia.
