Mr Creosote:
It is interesting for sure that the game got renamed for the English version. Maybe I'll give the even older Caesar a review some day in order to confuse our visitors even more ;)

Re. the news, I doubt a name which has become such a generic term in our culture such as Caesar can be trademarked. In fact, I have played at least one other game before the one from Impressions which had the same title already.

Make another "Alien" movie, huh? As for this other predecessor - well, if it was that obscure, it was probably a little too amateurish to begin with and there was no question of copyright at that point. Therefore, I see no crime if someone took the title a little bit further. But downgrading it and causing confusion? I think the Impressions product is fairly known (at least part two of it which tugs the prequel just as far) to give it so little credit.
