We called NES/Famicom just "Dendy" which was unlicensed taiwanese clone manufactured for Russia and CIS countries. We had no idea that our consoles were Famicom clones, and whenever someone brought up "Nintendo" we thought it's something super-dooper. We didn't even distinguish between SNES and N64, it was all the same to us. And no, I personally didn't know anyone who owned either one, but a lot of kids had SMD/Genesis though ----- Cheer up!
