Review by Underdogs:
Mean Bean Machine 2000 is an excellent unofficial PC remake of popular Megadrive/Genesis Tetris-style puzzler Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine (aka Puyo Puyo in Asia). Gameplay is simple, but addictive: little blobs fall in pairs at random, and your job is to line them up in groups (not necessarily same rows or columns) of the same color to clear them. It's essentially CAPCOM’s Puzzle Fighter without the detonators. Very addictive, although not the most innovative Tetris clones out there. If you never had the Megadrive/Genesis console machine, here’s your chance to find out what the fuss was all about. Two thumbs up! As a side note, the small group that made this game, Apocalypse Inc., are “demosceners” who created quite a few great demos—check them out on their website.
