Minicomics
With (almost) each figure, there came a minicomic. The first few ones were made by DC, but Mattel took over soon. On the whole, the second series (i.e. the last one by DC) can be regarded as the peak: very mystical stories which gave the characters a lot of depth (which was later scrapped again) are presented in almost genious artwork here! And to feed the cliché once again: exactly this second series was banned in Germany because it was 'too brutal'...
