The Star Comics appeared relatively late. At this time, there were already a lot of contradicting influences in the MOTU universe (the cartoon being the most influential). Marvel (the company behind the Star label) now had the job to 'merge' all these into something believable. And they did that relatively well! Still, especially the first issues are full of silly and unnecessary mistakes (Webstor turning into Blade...). It gets better with increasing issue number though, and from #9 on, the stories are of top quality! The same developement can be seen in the artwork: in early issues whole pictures including people were sometimes just painted over with the background colour, but the drawings got more professional in the later ones.
