Believe me, now that you got your own computer which is not standing in such an open room, you will use your computer to listen to music while working on it more ;)

Most likely I won't while really using the computer because it diverts me a lot when I try to concentrate.

It diverts you to have some music on in the background? Ha, I've even learned to write game reviews and watch TV at the same time :D

Can't judge that, I never read my own stuff - I'm not interested in reviews, only in d/l's ;)

I prefer Winamp 2.8 for one single reason: there's still no working plugin for Real Audio files for Winamp 3. As soon as there is one, I'm switching. While some may complain it's slow, I found it faster than both Windows Media Player and Real Player, both of which I should be able to emulate with Winamp 3.

As for Spyware, Winamp always tries to connect to the winamp.com server when I open it, according to my firewall. In addition, Winamp tries to connect to another source when you are playing an audio CD, in order to determine the name of the CD and tracks (works with original CDs only).

As for privacy; privacy concerns is the main reason why I absolutely refuse to have Internet connection on my home computer. With an USB Flash drive I have no problems with transferring files there, so the only disadvantage remains no on-line gaming for me...

Although I'm concerned about privacy as well, that's a restriction I'm not willing to get along with yet. ;)

There's one more reason: I believe that if I had Internet easily accessible, I'd spend much more time on-line, instead of doing something more productive, like reading or going hiking ;).

I think he already answered that:

What's so productive about reading or hiking?

Well, that's personal taste, isn't it? I wouldn't call it more productive, but I still wouldn't want to spend the whole day online. By the same reason, I wouldn't want to spend all my time reading. Diversity makes a day 'interesting' or 'productive' ;)

That's why I'm on-line at work, hike over weekends and read in evenings :).

My usual day: Online whenever I'm home, during day do chores and attend classes (sometimes), evenings, go to bar and have a merry old time, night, spend online unless I got lucky :), morning, sleep, blissfull sleep :) I find this very productive although it is the same day in day out... But I wouldn't want to live without I-net in my place for one simgle reason: it's my main way of communicating with my friends when they're at their respective places...

I'm online most of the time I'm at home, too, but that doesn't mean I'm actually doing anything online ;) Most of the time, I just have it running, check for example this forum from time to time, but mainly, I'm doing something else, like reading, watching TV, playing games - basically everything which keeps me from working ;)

Yes, that's what I meant by being online too... Although when I'm actually at home (my parents place) I am online when I appear to be (does this make any sense to anyone? :)) seeing as there is little else for me to do here...

Or "never" :P

Pada1: Your last post leads me to another question. What do you actually call home usually? Your own place or your parents' home?

Both actually... I know this doesn't make things any easier but it's a safe assumption that from 1/10 till 30/60 my home during the week is my place in Leuven whilst every other weekend I go "home" to my parents place... Keep them informed of my studies and all... From july 1 till end of september, it's all rather vague for me too so... :bemused:
