Right now, the excuse to attack Iraq is that they produce weapons of mass destruction, which could potentially harm Americans.

Okay, following that "logic", Iraq would have the full right to bomb the USA to dust. Even more than vice versa, as Iraq is threatened by the USA acutely, not potentially.

Goodargument, Tapuak! I didn't think of that before, but it makes perfect sense.

Thanks for not calling me an Iraq supporter immediately! ;) It easily happens if you explain your opinion this way. People often don't understand you neither belong to the one nor the other side ( "good/"bad" ). :(

I view this more like an academic discussion. I'm quite indifferent about the war against Iraq, so I'm open to any resonable arguments. I can't wait till I present it to my warmonging friends ;).

[sarcasm]
Yeah, we all know comparing someone to Hitler is a recent trend, which is an adequate relativization of Germany's history:
Hussein = Hitler
Bush = Hitler
Sharon = Hitler
German electors = Hitler supporters (quote by some CDU politician referring to the recent election)
[/sarcasm]

(insert puking smiley here)

Huh? Haven't heard that one! Who said it and what did he (assuming it's a man talking about the CDU...) mean?

Christoph Stölzl (apparently the boss of the Berlin CDU, didn't know him before) said the German people acted like in the elections that made Hitler the Reichskanzler.

Point? It was obviously meant to "criticise" the legitimation of the gouvernment in a totally unacceptable and primitive way.

So you mean it is basically a new version of the old pissed-off "the people have voted and we have to accept that"? ;)

Who knows? Maybe this statement was aimed at the poeple who voted CDU. In this case, I'd probably agree with him. ;)

Damn, that would be scary ;)

On TV at the moment they say Hussein has Bio weapons he can launch in up to 45 minutes time.
All of them are directed at Israel, and he said after the last gulf war that they will only be used if America wants to take him out of power, which is what they want to do, so now they are all shitting themselves.

Heard on the news yesterday that Sadam has a few doppelgangers... Guess they're needed for the rougher stunt work ;)

My opinion about this entire war is quite simple (and maybe a bit simplistic): Even if Sadam has nukes or bio-chem weapons, who cares? He might be a dictator but he isn't mad... Why should we (Western countries) be allowed to have nukes and such and he shouldn't have them? Saddam knows perfectly well that if he launches a bio-chem weapon or a nuke, the entire world will be in outrage because of the simple inhumanity of it... After Hiroshima and Nagasaki, nobody dares use nukes anymore because they know that if they launch, their own country will go to hell to... There is no such thing as a small scale tactical nuclear strike...

And if we all die, then so be it... no big loss in my eyes... (as long as you don't have an Omega-man scenario ;))
