Member Dr Gumby Posts: 267 | I've just used the preview option for the first time and found that when I clicked the Go Back link, I had lost all of my typing . I sure don't like that feature And maybe add :p as a smily code. ----- Lets make this a beefy place |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11151 | Just tested it and it works fine for me. The text was still there after going back both with the browser's 'back' button and the forum's 'back' link. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Dr Gumby Posts: 267 | Just tested it myself and the text was gone, I'm using IE6, that might be the problem. ----- Lets make this a beefy place |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 740 | It's a quirk primarily in IE, sometimes the text will still be there when you go back, sometimes it'll disappear. I think it may have something to do with the length of time before you hit the back button. It's also more likely to do it if you go back to the page multiple times (like if you're having trouble getting it to go through). I don't know what the exact cause is, but I know it does that sometimes and not others. Note that IE does that on ALL sites, not just here. Member Retired Gumby Posts: 740 | Yeah, I've had that happen with all versions of IE (well, 5.1+), and less often with other browsers. There's no pattern that I can find, so I assume it must be connected to available memory or caching or something along those lines. ----- At the end of the day, you're left with a bent fork & a pissed off rhino. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | Something strange happened to me today as I came to the Spam Club: 1.) I didn't auto-login which is strange since all the other times I do... 2.) Even after I logged in, every post/announcement made since this board started was marked as new even though there was no new post at all after I checked it... Just thought I'ld let you know... ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century. Member Retired Gumby Posts: 740 | I think that either all the spamclub cookies are starting to expire, or there was a temporary glitch or change in the board that voided existing cookies. I got logged out somehow yesterday or the day before and had to relogin. Now that I've relogged in, I'm staying logged in without any problems. ----- At the end of the day, you're left with a bent fork & a pissed off rhino. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11151 | Haven't experienced that problem, but might be that the cookies just expired. That's the whole purpose of expiring after all And logging back in once shouldn't be the biggest problem really. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 740 | Not really a problem, just an irritation. I prefer being able to stay logged in permanently unless I specifically log out. Can you make the cookies renew themselves every visit? That way instead of expiring XX days after you log in, they'd expire XX days after your last visit (which would effectively make them permanent unless you didn't visit the board for XX days). ----- At the end of the day, you're left with a bent fork & a pissed off rhino. |
